The Notifications Dashboard contains four basic modules that post information and updates related to all courses and organizations students are enrolled in. Students can decide which notifications will generate email messages.

Settings for the Notifications Dashboard Email Notifications

  1. Log in to the Portal.
  2. Click My Places (head icon located in the top banner of Portal), or click on Notifications Dashboard.
  3. Click Edit Notification Settings.

    The page displays general Notification Settings.

    a. Edit General Settings - Defines the general notification settings such as email format, deletion schedule, and reminder schedule for courses and organizations.

    To change settings:

    1. Set the number of days until a notification is automatically deleted.
    2. Set the number of days before the Due Date to send an email.
    3. Click Submit

    b. Edit Individual Course Settings - Displays the current notification settings for courses in which a user is enrolled. Changes to the notification settings for a specific course can be made.

    To change settings:

    1. Click on a course name. Current notification settings for this course are displayed.
    2. Change settings by checking or unchecking boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    3. To receive email notifications, check boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    4. Click Submit

    c. Bulk Edit Notification Settings - Select a set of courses or organizations to update and change the notification settings for them in one step.

    To change settings:

    1. Click on a course name or an organization name. Current notification settings are displayed.
    2. Change settings by checking or unchecking boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    3. To receive email notifications, check boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    4. Click Submit

    d. Edit Individual Organization Settings - Displays the current notification settings for organizations in which a user is enrolled. Changes to the notification settings for a specific organization can be made.

    To change settings:

    1. Click on an Organization name. Current notification settings for this organization are displayed.
    2. Change settings by checking or unchecking boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    3. To receive email notifications, check boxes adjacent to each type of notification.
    4. Click Submit
