Journals provide a means for private communication between you and your instructor. Only you and your instructor can view and comment on journal entries, however your instructor does have the option of making individual journal entries available to the class.
 
ACCESSING THE TOOL

  1. Click Tools on the Course Menu;
  2. Click Journals.


POSTING AN ENTRY


  1. Click on the journal you want to post to;
  2. Click the Create Journal Entry button;
  3. Enter a journal  title into the Title field;
  4. Type your message text into the Entry Message field;
  5. You can attach a file to your journal entry by clicking Browse for Local File or Browse for Content Collection item;
  6. Click Post Entry to submit your journal entry to your instructor, or click Save Entry as Draft to continue working on your journal entry at a later date.


DELETING AN ENTRY
You may only delete your entries if your instructor has enabled this setting on the journal.


  1. Navigate to the journal entry you would like to delete, then click on the on the contextual menu button beside its name;
  2. Click Delete;
  3. Click OK the dialog box to confirm that you would like to delete this entry.


POSTING A COMMENT


  1. Navigate to the journal entry you would like to comment on;
  2. Click on the Comment button;
  3. Type your comment in the Comment field;
  4. To finish click Add.


DELETING A COMMENT
You may only delete a comment if your instructor has enabled this setting on the journal;


  1. If you are allowed to delete comments, a Delete icon will automatically appear beside your name, click this icon;
  2. Click OK in the dialog box to confirm that you would like to delete the comment.
