Portfolios Overview

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

Portfolios allow students to creatively showcase their work and reflect on their short-term and long-term learning.  Portfolios contain an organized collection of Artifacts that exhibit the student’s efforts, progress, or achievement in one or more areas over time.

Portfolios can be highly customized for different uses. You may create portfolios to document your professional and academic resumes, to show a transferable skill, or to track personal development.

You can use more than one portfolio, e.g. one portfolio to track your research and another to display your writing. Portfolios can be shared with multiple audiences across multiple contexts for communication and feedback. Also your instructor may ask you to create a portfolio to share with a course, or submit a Portfolio in response to an assignment .
